Hakonezaiku Hand Carved Antique Ivory Set. My uncle was stationed in Okinawa 1946-1950 (approximately) where (I believe) he obtained this chess set. There is no date on the pictured letter but it reads "Kita Shoji Company LTD., Tokyo, Japan." My aunt gave me the chess set about 20 years ago. As you can see the carrying case is in very rough condition but could be copied. The wooden board has some wear on it but it is in 99% excellent condition and measures 24"X24"X4 1/2" (inches). All of the chess pieces are immaculate. They are truly beautifully hand crafted with not a mark on them after 70+ years. I hope you can see the detail of the carving in the attached pictures. View it on a large screen so that you might see the intricate detail and read the letter.

I thought someone might like to return it home to Japan.
