She lost her mother and is unhappy at the lack of attention from her father who is working hard, and has found a new woman that threatens to disrupt her life.
She also faces rumors at school, while participatin in a competition to help "save the frogs" from a housing development project that will take away important habitat.
It's delightful and includes real world problems for a child to ponder.
