Made from old burlap and woven reeds, stuffed with dried grasses.
I misplaced my measuring tape, but it reaches up slightly past the light switch, which I think helps judge the approximate size!
Perhaps it was mounted up on a pole when it was being used.

Though this is an authentic and historical Japanese hand made item, it could be used for Halloween decor.
