Native Elementary Math Teacher (Full-Time/Semi-Full-Time)
An International School is seeking a passionate and experienced educator to join our multicultural and dynamic learning environment. We are currently hiring for a long-term Elementary Math Teacher to support our expanding Cambridge Assessment International Education (CAIE) curriculum.
Location: Tokyo, Japan (Applicants must currently reside in Japan)
Schedule: Monday to Friday | 9:00 AM – 6:00 PM or 9:00 AM – 3:30 PM
Employment Type: Full-time or Semi-Full-Time
Key Responsibilities
Deliver engaging and effective Math lessons for Grades 1–6, following the Cambridge curriculum objectives
Incorporate differentiated instruction and appropriate teaching materials to support diverse learning needs.
Evaluate and assess student progress through classwork, assignments, and formal assessments.
Prepare detailed progress reports aligned with Cambridge standards.
Participate in Parent-Teacher Meetings (PTMs) to discuss student growth and areas for improvement.
Collaborate with colleagues on lesson planning, curriculum development, and school-wide events.
Handle classroom and school-related administrative responsibilities, including ensuring the timely submission of attendance by homeroom teachers.
Maintain consistent and up-to-date records of student performance.
Supervise or lead at least one elective or enrichment activity.
Participate in school events, activities, and field trips.
Subjects Taught
Cambridge Math (Years 1–6):
Students build skills in reading, writing, speaking, and listening. The curriculum focuses on vocabulary development, comprehension, grammar, creative writing, and critical analysis, all designed to foster confident and effective communication.
Qualifications and Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Math, Education, or a relevant subject.
Valid teaching license or certification preferred.
Experience teaching in a school environment, preferably with elementary-aged learners.
Strong foundation in Mathematics with English language instructions.
Familiarity with the Cambridge curriculum is highly desirable.
Effective classroom management and strong communication skills.
Ability to support non-English language learners.
Collaborative, flexible, and committed to professional growth.
Professional Responsibilities
Plan and deliver lessons based on Cambridge Math learning outcomes.
Maintain discipline and enforce school policies in and outside the classroom.
Adjust teaching methods to suit varying learning styles and academic levels.
Write meaningful and detailed student reports reflecting progress and achievements.
Engage in regular communication with parents, including PTMs and ongoing updates.
Contribute to a positive and respectful school environment.
