Backstory:
The banner with the white background shows Takeda Shingen (bottom) and Uesugi Kenshin (top) in battle. They were both very adept fighters and battle strategists. Several of their battles might be considered a draw, though the written history is not definitive on this. The red banner within the white banner has a famous set of kanji on it.
"風林火山" = "Fu Furashi Yama" (running like the wind) and is Takeda Shingen's samurai war banner (furin kazan). By the way there is a famous statue outside the JR Kofu station of this historical person.
You can find many replicas of this battle flat for sale as t-shirts and so on by doing a search for

Uesugi Kenshin has an interesting story attached to his name: "Uesugi Kenshin was also, according to a contemporary Japanese historian Tomeo Yagiri, a woman. As a possible rationale for a female Kenshin living as a man: because the leader of the clan had to be a man, or the shogun could divide up their lands and give them away. Evidence from this theory is that Kenshin had severe stomach cramps on a monthly basis around the 10th of the month. He actually programmed his military campaigns around that. The cause of Kenshin's death is recorded as a form of uterine cancer. Kenshin had a feminine appearance, had no children, and does not own a harem."
The banner with the yellow background, I managed to lose my notes, so I will re-write them... haha.
The top figure is Toyotomi Hideyoshi.
I think the lower figure is Date Masamune (伊達 政宗) who founded the city of Sendai.
