Join a team-based engineering environment building and improving enterprise web systems for major clients. This role is ideal for someone who wants stable, long-term growth, solid engineering mentorship, and the chance to contribute across the lifecycle (not just isolated coding tasks).
What You’ll Work On (Project Examples)
Exact domain and end client will vary by assignment.
- Enterprise web applications (internal workflow tools, business systems, portals)
- New feature development and continuous improvement of existing systems
- Modernization / upgrades (framework upgrades, refactoring, maintainability improvements)
- API integration and data flows between systems (project dependent)
- Performance, stability, and operational improvements (monitoring/reliability activities may be involved depending on project)
- Design and implement features for web applications
- Participate in the full lifecycle: design → development → testing → operations/maintenance
- Collaborate within a team of ~15–20 engineers (with PL/PM support)
- Write clean, maintainable code; contribute to reviews and shared standards
- Depending on experience, contribute upstream (requirements clarification, basic design)
- Languages commonly used: Java / JavaScript / C# / PHP (others possible)
- Framework-based development experience is expected
- Development style may be Agile or Waterfall depending on assignment
- 1+ year of hands-on software development experience (web or application development)
- Experience using a framework in development work
- Experience with at least one language such as Java / PHP / Python / C# / Ruby / Go (or similar)
- Backend or full-stack development experience
- Experience building DB-backed applications or APIs
- Experience with modern development practices (Git, code review, CI/CD)
- Interest in taking on ownership, mentoring, or future leadership (PL/PM or Tech Lead track)
- Ability to work in a professional environment in Japan
- For non-Japanese candidates: JLPT N2+ preferred (N3 welcomed)
- English: ability to communicate in a professional setting is a plus (requirements may vary by project)
- High proportion of prime / direct-style projects (more ownership and upstream exposure)
