(Mostly, what is below is a translation of the Mercari listing (https://jp.mercari.com/item/m36370675084) I made last night. Please note that if someone has already bought the item on Mercari, then it is no longer available for purchase here as I only have one such laptop 'in stock' for sale.)
Having upgraded recently to a T480, and facing some pressure from my family to clean out some of my unnecessary digital goods, I recently fixed up and am putting out for sale my X250 (model 20CM-0048US) that I have been using for the better part of the last decade. I will also be selling it with a 100W USB-C charger (more on that later) and a fabric case, included in the sales price.
Before going any further, please review the price (50,000 JPY, with acceptable alternatives in EUR or USD noted at the end of the post). I am NOT in a hurry to sell (this is no Sayonara Japan post - I am a very long-term resident of Japan), and I _will_ walk away from anyone who tries to bait and switch me for a lower value. (If you want a discount, make it within 10%, give me a reason to accept it (e.g. you will pay me for my transportation cost to bring it to you or pay for me to eat lunch, etc.), and most of all, make me aware that you intend to pay less _before_ we meet.) Similarly, if you lowball offer me in my emails, I will just click the link to have Craigslist block you from emailing me. I understand the economy is difficult for everyone in these times, but please respect my work to prepare this laptop, as it does include some rather high-end features that make it immediately ready for up to business-use, which are difficult to just "give away for free" (or for practically nothing at all).
Generally speaking, I prefer that we meet in the vicinity of JR Nagatsuta station or Machida Station (Odakyu or JR OK). We can also meet at the stations between Suganuma (DT-14) and Nagatsuta (DT-22) on the Den-en Toshi line, if you prefer. Otherwise, with the understanding that you will at minimum pay for the transportation expense from one of these locations, I can meet up with you at another location of your choice. (This includes EVEN if you decide not to buy the laptop, I will let you know what my round-trip expense is and I will expect payment for having brought it to you). The exceptions to this are Yokohama Station, Shibuya Station, and any of the stations on the Den-en Toshi, Hanzomon, or equivalent line in Saitama up to Shin-Misato [and while in the wrong direction, yes, Den-en Toshi stations between Nagatsuta and Chuo-Rinkan will also not be charged a transportation fee for in-person delivery].
As long as you are within Saitama, Tokyo, or Kanagawa prefectures (and some surrounding areas), even at the edges of those prefectures where it will take a couple of hours for me (in each direction) to reach you by local train, I will only charge you the couple thousands of yen in each direction that I incur in my transportation cost. If you are further away and purchase a Shinkansen or domestic plane ticket for me, I will come in-person with this laptop to you, though at that point, I highly encourage you to choose the option to at least consider the options to have me ship it, or to just purchase it from the Mercari link below.
Finally, please do NOT have me meet you at your office or especially at your home. If you have some extreme circumstances (and I judge it will not affect my safety) then I will go, but otherwise, I would like to meet at a public location (likely, either the station itself or at a nearby cafe or the like nearby).

[Item Details]
- Brand: Lenovo
- Model: ThinkPad
- RAM (Memory): Upgraded (although I recognise that it really needs this in 2025)! 16GB DDR3 Crucial by Micron SoDIMM, 1 stick
- Storage: 2TB Seagate FireCuda ST2000LX001-1RG174 SSHD
- Processor: Upgraded! Intel Core i7-5600U (2.6GHz)
- Display: Upgraded! 12.5-inch 1920x1080 IPS
- OS: Windows 11 Enterprise LTSC 24H2 (supported to at least October 2029 [and can be in-place switched to the IoT Enterprise edition for support to 2034])
- WiFi & Bluetooth: Intel 8265AC with Bluetooth 4.2. Supports the 5GHz Wi-Fi band (as well as the usual 2.4 GHz one).
- WWAN: Sierra Wireless AirPrime EM7345. Allows for use of 4G LTE data while on the go (in a car, in a Shinkansen, in a place with no internet) by inserting a micro-SIM card in the SIM card tray. Drivers already installed and ready-to-go in the OS.
- Headphones: Comes with a 3.5 mm wired earphone / headphone jack, for those who prefer wired audio to bluetooth or on-device speaker audio.
- Battery: There is both the internal and external battery, and each are at about 75% health. You can still charge the laptop to around 55 Wh, which gives a respectable four or so hours of browsing time (and a few hours more when the internet radios are turned off).
- Charger: I modded the charging port on this laptop with the help of a friend in Taiwan many years ago to allow it to charge with 90 W ~ 100 W USB-C adapters. For most of the last few years, I have been using an 87W Apple charger brick from my MacBook Pro, but I have tested that it also works well with (and have included) a 100W Anker USB-C to USB-C charger brick with a 1m Apple USB-C to USB-C cable. You may switch out the brick (to anything else at or above 87W, above 90W suggested) or the cable accordingly with any others that you already have. (And if you already have a compatible charger cable, I will accept a request for a few thousands of Japanese yen discount on the basis that you do not need this.)
- Software included: Microsoft Office 2024 included (Word, Powerpoint, Excel, Outlook) as in the photo. There is also Acrobat Reader for PDFs and both the Google Chrome and Firefox browsers. If there are any other software (which is free!) that you wish included on the laptop before sale, please let me know in the email and I can probably arrange for it at no extra cost (will confirm in a response to your email inquiry).
- Other things to note: 720p on-device web camera, on-device Fingerprint Reader, VGA and DisplayPort (DP) external monitor plugs, 2x USB 3.0 ports, [Full-size] SD card reader, 1Gbps Ethernet LAN port.
There is some cleaning discolouration under the tape and a couple of visible white spots on the plastic. None of these affect the usability or performance of the laptop.
Finally, for the English speaking audience, please note that while it did have a US keyboard when I first bought the device (it is a model ending in "US" after all) it eventually broke, so it was replaced some time ago with this current Japanese keyboard (which I have been using and works perfectly). If you touch-type, you can just set the keyboard in the OS to US layout and it will remap the keyboard accordingly (something I used to do before reformatting the device for sale). Further, for those whose first language is not Japanese, I can modify the OS with a language pack in the language of your choice (considering that I wrote this ad up in English, I assume English, but based on my prior experiences Vietnamese, Chinese, Korean, etc. is also OK). Please note that you have committed to buying the laptop if I confirm that I will change the OS to your language (and I may take up to 1/2 the payment up-front, non-refundable), as it takes a considerable amount of effort to add / remove language packs in Windows OS.
Thank you for reading my post.

[Delivery Options | Foreign Currency (EUR, USD)]
For the delivery option, I am open to sending this laptop within Japan via Mercari (listing on https://jp.mercari.com/item/m36370675084), or outside of Japan to any country that Japan Post will ship to (though I will have to charge your shipping fees and you will be responsible for any applicable duties). If you present a compelling reason and agree to pay the shipping fee, I can also ship the laptop directly via Kuroneko Yamato or Japan Post not using Mercari, so long as the laptop's value and shipping are prepaid for. (And I do accept "I am a foreigner who cannot sign up for Mercari" or "I hate intermediate processors who take extra fees" as valid reasons.)
Notably, I cannot ship to the US as this item's value is too high for current regulations (and I will not falsify customs documents to note it as a "gift" or some such fraudulent actions). I apologise for this if it is an inconvenience. (The sole exception is Japanese Tokyo-ish area APO addresses, where we meet in-person in the vicinity of the US base.)
If you are outside Japan (or just prefer to pay in alternative currency even in person), I will also accept 300 EUR or 350 USD for this laptop. If you intend to pay by foreign currency for an in-person meeting transaction, please let me know in advance and if you intend to pay by foreign currency for a shipment transaction, please pre-pay the invoiced value (the above + shipping costs) via the Wise application (https://wise.com). Thank you.
