Network Engineer (Branch Refresh & Wireless) – Tokyo, Japan
We're hiring an experienced Network Engineer to join a major network transformation project for a leading international insurance company headquartered in Tokyo.
You'll play a key role in refreshing enterprise LAN and wireless infrastructure across approximately 30 branch offices throughout Japan, taking ownership from site surveys and design through deployment, migration, and handover.
Location: Tokyo (Hybrid)
Employment Type: Contract
Salary: ¥10,000,000–¥12,000,000 per year
Mandatory Requirements
- Currently residing in Japan
- Valid working authorization for Japan (no visa sponsorship)
- Business-level English
- Business-level Japanese (JLPT N3 minimum)
- Willing to travel domestically
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct wireless site surveys and RF analysis
- Design enterprise wireless solutions, including AP placement, channel planning, SSIDs, and security
- Deploy and configure routers, switches, firewalls, wireless controllers, and access points
- Execute staging, testing, cutovers, and migrations
- Produce technical documentation and support project handover
Required Experience
- 5+ years of enterprise Network Engineering experience
- Experience delivering multi-site network rollout or infrastructure refresh projects
- CCNP-level networking skills (certification preferred)
- Strong Cisco and/or Arista experience
- Enterprise wireless expertise, including controller-based WLAN, RF analysis, and 802.1X
- Strong knowledge of Routing & Switching, VLANs, TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, Firewalls, LAN/WAN, and SD-WAN
