It's between the bright lights of Shibuya and the mad nightlife of Roppongi. It also borders other upscale residential neighborhoods such as Ebisu, Aoyama and Azabu. While the greater Tokyo area offers most Western necessities, it can often be hard to find everything you're looking for in one place.
Part of what makes Hiroo such a great location for expats is that due to the large number of foreigners living in the area, most of your daily needs whether it be Western food and clothing, or English-speaking services are all centrally located.
Hiroo is home to several embassies: Embassy of Peru, Croatia, Czech Republic, Burkina Faso, Tajikistan, Congo, and Oman. Hiroo Station is the nearest subway station to several prominent embassies in Minato: Embassy of France, Germany, Norway, and Pakistan.

National Azabu National Azabu Supermarket: A big draw for many who live in Hiroo is its proximity to the National Azabu Supermarket, which we previously featured in our article on Tokyo's international supermarkets. If you're looking for hard-to-find ingredients for a dish from your home country, living close to a store that caters to international tastes is a great convenience.
Arisugawa-no-miya Memorial Park (Arisugawa Miya Kinen Koen) is a large park in Azabu. It's only a 2 minute walk from Hiroo station. Many people think of the park as being in Hiroo. The park features 16 acres of forest.
Famous Le Cordon Bleu / ル・コルドン・ブルー / 蓝带国际学院 culinary school is only 15 minutes walk away, perfect location for its ambitious students.
My Ebisu apartment is located within 8 minutes walking distance from the JR Yamanote Line Ebisu Station and Tokyo Metro Hibiya Line Station. Ebisu is one stop from Shibuya Station or 3 stops from Shinagawa Station.
Walk to Shibuya is about 15 minutes, no need to worry about the last train or taking a taxi when parting out.
Walk to Hiroo station on Metro Hibiya line is 9 minutes.
